Mater Family Fun Day Sunday 3rd June 2012

The weather did not look very promising, even the tops of building were wreathed in clouds, but that did not put off hundreds of people walking and running to raise funds to make 'little miracles' happen for sick children and babies.

There was no need for the free sunscreen as the rain held off and hundreds of people, many dressed as super heroes, began the walk while the City Of Brisbane Pipe Band played. They had a lovely route to follow along the South Bank with fantastic views of the river and the city on one side and the man-made lagoon and park on the other.

The money raised will go towards Mater Mothers and Mater Children's Hospitals with further events throughout Queensland until July.

The band played until the last of the walkers had gone before heading off to the Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha to play in the bandstand
